History

In the beginning

Doug Booth – Senior Design Engineer / Sales Manager leaves major UK shotblast machine manufacturer Spencer Halstead (now Wheelabrator Group) to set up his own company.

The company was established

Doug Booth and Sons established – premises acquired in Horbury, West Yorkshire.

First machine sold

Doug Booth designs and sells its first machine to British Steel, It was a 4 head Billet Line machine with over 300kw of centrifugal blast power!

2^nd generation

Paul Booth (Current Managing Director and 2^nd generation Booth) Joins the business.

Major Developments

Company develops world’s first slab (concrete flag) etching machine (the process theory was developed by Doug Booth for Marshalls and is now used globally).

Moving up

The company moves to larger premises in Ossett, West Yorkshire.

3^rd generation

Jonathan Booth joins the business (3^rd generation Booth).

Design First

Design and build of the world’s first “Walk Beam” transverse slat machine

Succession

Doug Booth retires from the company he founded leaving the 2^nd and 3^rd generation Booths to take the company forward.

Going forward

The company becomes Doug Booth (UK) Ltd.
