    In the beginning

    Doug Booth – Senior Design Engineer / Sales Manager leaves major UK shotblast machine manufacturer Spencer Halstead (now Wheelabrator Group) to set up his own company.

  • 1974

    The company was established

    Doug Booth and Sons established – premises acquired in Horbury, West Yorkshire.

  • 1976

    First machine sold

    Doug Booth designs and sells its first machine to British Steel, It was a 4 head Billet Line machine with over 300kw of centrifugal blast power!

  • 1977

    2nd generation

    Paul Booth (Current Managing Director and 2nd generation Booth) Joins the business.

  • 1977

    Major Developments

    Company develops world’s first slab (concrete flag) etching machine (the process theory was developed by Doug Booth for Marshalls and is now used globally).

  • 1991

    Moving up

    The company moves to larger premises in Ossett, West Yorkshire.

  • 2006

    3rd generation

    Jonathan Booth joins the business (3rd generation Booth).

  • 2007

    Design First

    Design and build of the world’s first “Walk Beam” transverse slat machine

  • 2007

    Succession

    Doug Booth retires from the company he founded leaving the 2nd and 3rd generation Booths to take the company forward.

  • 2009

    Going forward

    The company becomes Doug Booth (UK) Ltd.
